Privacy policy

This policy covers this website. It is deliberately specific: rather than describing things a website might do, it describes what this one actually does, which is very little.

Who is responsible

The controller for any personal data processed through this website is Silom Digital, European Union. You can reach us at admin@silomdigital.com.

What this website collects

Almost nothing. This site is a set of static pages. It uses cookie-free Web Analytics to count page views, described below; beyond that there is no tracking pixel, no advertising, no embedded third-party content, no comment system, no contact form, no accounts and no login. We do not build profiles of individual visitors, and we do not sell or share data with anyone.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies and writes nothing to local storage or session storage — including the analytics described next. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

The typefaces are served from this site’s own domain rather than from a font CDN, so they add no third-party request of their own.

Analytics

This site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It is built specifically not to need your consent: it sets no cookies, writes nothing to local storage, and does not use a persistent identifier to recognise you across visits or across sites.

What it collects, in aggregate only: the page you viewed, the page that referred you here (if any), your approximate country, and your device and browser type. None of it is tied to a name, an email address or an account, because this site has none of those either. We use it for one purpose — seeing which pages are actually visited — on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, the same basis as the server logs below. Vercel processes this data as our processor under the same data processing agreement described there, and retains it under its own published retention period for Web Analytics.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., which acts as our processor. Like any web host, Vercel’s infrastructure records technical data about requests as they are served, which typically includes:

• the IP address the request came from,
• the browser’s user agent string,
• the URL requested and the response status,
• the date and time of the request.

We want to be plain about why this exists: it is not our choice to collect it and we do not use it to analyse visitors. It is an unavoidable part of how a server delivers a page over the internet, and it is what makes it possible to keep the site available and to deal with abuse such as denial-of-service traffic. We do not link this data to any individual, and we do not use it for marketing.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering and securing the website, under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. This data is held for a short period under Vercel’s own retention schedule and is then deleted. Vercel processes it on our behalf under a data processing agreement, and may transfer it outside the European Economic Area under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

If you email us

The address on this site is an ordinary mailto link — using it opens your own mail program, and nothing is sent anywhere until you send it. If you do write to us, we process your address and whatever you put in the message for as long as it takes to deal with it, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering correspondence, or to take steps at your request before entering a contract.

Our apps have their own policies

This policy applies to this website only. Each app we publish has its own separate privacy policy, because what an app does with data has nothing to do with what a static marketing site does. An app’s policy is linked from its entry in the Apps section and from its store listing.

We have not published an app yet. When we do, its policy will be listed here.

Your rights

Where we hold personal data about you, the GDPR gives you the right to request access to it (Article 15), to have it corrected (Article 16) or erased (Article 17), to have its processing restricted (Article 18), to receive it in a portable form (Article 20), and to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests (Article 21).

In practice there is usually nothing for us to give you: we hold no account, no profile and no identifier for you. Server logs and Web Analytics data are held by our host and are not indexed in a way that lets us find an individual, so a request to access them will normally need you to tell us the approximate time and IP address involved, and even then we may not be able to identify you (Article 11).

To exercise any of these rights, email admin@silomdigital.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Article 77), normally the one in the EU or EEA country where you live or work.

Children

This site is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, regardless of age.

Changes to this policy

If the site changes in a way that affects this policy — for example if we ever add a feature that does collect something — we will update this page and the date at the top before that change goes live.
